What an experience the girls had this afternoon, zooming down under the river Mersey and climbing back up from Birkenhead to Liverpool and back through the Queensway tunnel. The girls performed exceptionally well in their Champion System speedsuits and Limar Speed Demon helmets with Nicola Soden taking 4th in the women’s event (read her blog 10 minutes (and more) of hell), won by former National TT Champion Julia Shaw.
Overall the event was won by Team Sky Professional, Alex Dowsett by almost a minute to second place Ryan Mullen with a time of 8.25. For full results click here The event was extremely well executed by Vita Cycles, providing closed roads, live commentary, music and police support. They even managed to bring the sun out! We will definitely be riding the event again next year!
